Commercial Insurance Plans

Understanding Your Mental Health Benefits
Navigating insurance coverage for behavioral health services can be confusing. Here are a few things that may help.
Most insurance plans cover mental health services including psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits. However, the amount you pay out of pocket depends on your specific plan’s deductible, copay, and coinsurance. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card and asking whether outpatient psychiatric and mental health services are covered, what your copay or coinsurance is for a psychiatric nurse practitioner or therapist visit, whether you need a referral or prior authorization, and what your deductible is and how much has been met.

What If My Insurance Isn’t Listed?
If your insurance is not listed above, you may still have out-of-network benefits that can reimburse a portion of your costs. Contact your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, or reach out to us and we’ll help you explore your options.
